異例とも言える厳しい処分を受けた井出選手の明日はいずこへ。
なくした明日が見つかる事を祈って…。
［雑感］
話題の井出選手。クリスチャン・アルバースとのイモラでの接触事故に端を発した批判がついにライセンス剥奪という形にまで発展してしまいました。
「ヒドイ！厳し過ぎる！日本人苛めだ！」と反感を持つ人もいれば、「琢磨より３秒以上も遅いから当然」という冷めた意見も少なくないようですが、実際のところはどうなんでしょう？その辺りをちょっと状況などを勝手にまとめてみました。
◆井出選手のレース・スキル
「井出の後ろを走りたくない」とあからさまな嫌悪感を示すライコネンから、下位を走るレーサーとして似たような境遇に同情しつつ「彼のラインは独特」と冗談まじりに語るクリエンまで、とにかくパドック内で彼のスキルに対して擁護する人物は少なく、日本人を除けばごく限られるようです。
◆井出選手の走りが嫌がられる理由
それは彼の走りが「雑で危ない」という事ではなく、「彼はミラーを見過ぎていてアブナイ」というジャック・ヴィルヌーブの言葉が示すように、他のドライバーに気を使い過ぎる「優しさ」が災いしているようです。
◆カルチャーショック
彼がＦ1に参戦して一番驚いた事が、ガンガン縁石にタイヤを乗せて走るドライビング・スタイルと語っているように、繊細な走りが求められるフォーミュラーニッポンでの常識とＦ1との違いに激しいカルチャーショックを受けた様子。
◆過剰反応
しかもそんな中で自分に与えられたのは極端に戦闘力の劣るマシン。ブルーフラッグへの過剰な反応が逆に挙動不審な走りを招いていたのかもしれません。
◆危機感
彼自身パドックでの自分の評判をどれだけ耳にしていたかは定かではありませんが、同僚の佐藤琢磨とのタイム差は明確に自覚していた事でしょう。フォーミュラーニッポンでのチャンピオン経験のある本山哲や期待の新人として注目が集まる山本左近との交代などの噂がささやかれ始めていた時期。「なんとか走りで結果を見せないと…」募る焦り。それがイモラの不運を呼び込んだのかもしれません。
◆クラッシュ
アルバース本人に怪我がなかったものの、アスファルトのコース上で横転し、縁石をかすめながら数回転、裏返った状態で止まる大事故でした。
◆既視感
あの事故を見て、おそらく多くの人が1999年のニュルブルクリンクで開かれたヨーロッパＧＰでザウバーに乗ったペドロ・ディニスがスタート直後の多重クラッシュに巻き込まれて横転したシーンを思い浮かべた事でしょう。
当時に比べればクラッシュテストも強化され、ロールバーの強度も向上しているでしょうが、万が一、今回の事故があの時のように、ロールバーが砕け、頭部のセーフティー空間がないまま縁石をかすめたなら…。最悪の結末を招きかねない事故だったとして、レーススチュアードやFIAが事態を深刻に受け止めたとしても仕方のない事故でした。
◆イモラという場所
イモラといえば94年のアイルトン・セナとローランド・ラッツェンバーガーの悲劇の記憶も癒えない場所。ましてや現場はラッツェンバーガーの事故死で改修を受けたヴィルヌーブ・シケイン。レース関係者のトラウマを呼び覚ますには、あまりに刺激的な場所だったかもしれません。
◆招集された面々
しかも今回の事態を重くみたバーニー・エクレストンが協議のために緊急招集をかけた面子は、フランク・ウィリアムズ、ロン・デニスとジャン・トッド。よりによって「イモラでの事故」に一番、神経質になりそうなメンバーです。
◆井出選手の一言
そんな関係者の耳へ井出選手のサンマリノＧＰ終了後のインタビュー「レースだから仕方ない」というあまり反省の色が見られない発言が届いていたとしたら…。ライセンス剥奪の急先鋒と言われるニキ・ラウダでなくとも「ヤツのライセンスを取り上げてしまえ！」という気分が高まったかもしれません。
◆後悔先に立たず
ヨーロッパＧＰ前には、謝罪の意志を表明した井出選手ですが、時すでに遅し。もし、レース直後にアルバース自身の元を訪れて、そうしていたなら事態はもう少し好転していたかもしれません。それ以前にすでに「剥奪」の結論が出ていなかったという仮定の上での話ですが…。
◆アルバース選手の反応
事故直後こそ井出選手に対して厳しいコメントを発していた当のアルバースも、ライセンス剥奪という予想以上の厳しい処分に対しては「彼は今回の行為について反省すべきだけど、ルーキーなのだからミスだってある。もう一度チャンスを与えられるべき」と実に大人らしい対応を見せています。
◆鈴木亜久里代表の対応の拙さ
事故以来、一貫して井出選手の擁護に終始した事が、かえって事態を悪化させたと自分でも語るように、今回の件では、鈴木代表の対応の拙さがかなり目立ちました。フォーミュラーニッポンやＧＴ選手権での監督経験があるとはいえ、生き馬の目を抜くと言われるＦ1の世界では、まだまだ初心者マーク。もっとしたたかに、時には冷徹な判断を躊躇無く下す処世術を身につけないと魑魅魍魎うごめくグランプリ世界で生き残る事は難しいでしょう。
◆大きな疑問符
井出選手の起用に関して各方面から疑問符が投げかけられていたにもかかわらず、師弟愛的な美談で押し通した亜久里代表。それがかえってお互いにとって不幸な結末を招いたとも言えなくはないでしょうか。
疑問と言えば、美談とはうらはらに急遽参戦が決まったモンテニューでさえ作ってもらえた専用シートを最後まで用意してもらえなかった井出選手。ドライバー出身の亜久里代表が専用シートの重要性を軽んじるはずがありません。にもかかわらず井出選手へのこの待遇の悪さは、何故か？単なる身内意識から出た「甘え」なのでしょうか？それとも最初から井出選手は捨て駒扱いだったのでしょうか？
◆もやもや
今回の騒動で一番感じたのはやはり「Ｆ1はヨーロッパ人たちのモノ」という排他主義です。たしかに井出選手のドライビングは、お世辞にもトップレベルと言えるものではなかったかもしれません。しかし、過去にはもっとレベルの低いドライバーがいました。が、彼らにライセンス剥奪と言う強権が発動される事がなかったのはなぜでしょう？
◆彼らの本音
結局、彼らが言いたかったのは「ジャップを二人も走らせるな」という事だけだったのかもしれません。その結論を導くためのダシに使われたのが今回の接触事故だった…ただ、それだけの事に過ぎないのかもしれません。
◆井出選手の明日
とにかく今回の一件だけで井出有治というドライバーが過小評価されない事だけを切に願います。マイケル・アンドレッティやアレッサンドロ・ザナルディだってF1で夢破れてもCARTで新たに開花しました。日本のレース界にもそんな懐の深さみたいなものが生まれてきてもいい頃ではないでしょうか。
