タクシーに愛を

タクシーのマナーの悪さは万国共通？
香港らしい何とも雑多な記事である。
まったく迷惑な話だ。
昔からどうもタクシーってモノと相性の悪い私にとって、
見ているだけでイライラしてくる写真だ。
最近でこそ、サービス向上を掲げるタクシー会社も増え
多少は丁寧な応対にはなってきているものの、まだまだ
乱暴なドライバーは多い。
年末は特に「雑な対応」が目立つ
昨年末もこんなトラブルがあった。
終電は行っても益々盛り上がりを見せる深夜の六本木。
年末で混み合う酔っぱらい客をかき分け、路上に出て競争率の高いながら何とかタクシーをゲット。
帰路が同方向の仲間３人で、忙しなくのりこみ、いざ出発！
「すいません。東村山までお願いします」
「・・・はいわかりました・・・・」
くたびれたシャツにひょろりとのびた靴下の様なネクタイをだらしなくしめる
ヨネスケ似の50代位のドライバーは無機質に答える。
六本木を抜け、キラー通りを千駄ヶ谷方面へ・・・
10分もすると突然、ヨネスケがカミングアウト
運）すいませんお客さん、ガス欠です。
別のタクシー拾って貰えませんか〜
Y）は？
運）ガス欠です。このままだと止まっちゃいます。
タクシーには何百回も乗っている私だが、ガス欠を告げられるのは
初めての事だった。
メーターを見ると、確かに針はEMPTY付近を指している。
しかし、ここは引くわけにはいかない。
ドライバーは客が何処まで行くのか乗ったときに行き先を確認しているわけで、その時に「ガス欠」の旨を伝えるべきである。しかも、素人目にも往復は無理としても東村山までは行けなくは無い量はメーター的に残ってはいる。明らかに、年末の稼ぎ時、乗車の回転数上げて行くためには東村山は遠すぎる。だから、途中で我々をポイしちゃおうというのが見え見えだ。
私）運転手さん、それっておかしいんじゃないですか？
確かに遠いかもしれないけど、こちらは行き先伝えているじゃない。
それに、メーター的にまだ、走るでしょ？
酔いも手伝って、声に凄みを持たせて言い倒そうとするわたし。
運）ま〜走りますが・・・
そう言って、しばらく黙って運転を続けるヨネスケ。信号停車の度にバックミラー越しにこちらの様子をうかがうが目が合うとすっとそらしまた運転に集中しているかの様に寡黙に運転を続ける。
車は青梅街道に入り、私はうとうととし始める
運）お客さん じゃ、三鷹に給油所があるのでそちら経由でよろしいですよね。
意を決したかのようにやたら断定的な口調で突然、後ろも見ずにそう言う
私）は？
三鷹を経由すれば目的地まで大きくそれる。当然遠回りで、料金も一気に跳ね上がる。しかもその料金を我々が持て！と言う。しかも「よろしいですか？」ではなく「・・よろしいですよね」と断定だ。これには流石に切れた。
私）何で、俺らがそんなもん負担しなきゃいけないんだよ！絶対、行けよな！行けよ！東村山まで、押してもイイから行けよ！
同乗していたDJのケンの制止が更にわたしを熱くさせた！
結局、東村山まで冷戦の正味40分のドライブ。
当然、給油も途中下車も無く無事？到着。
御迷惑料と言うわけでもないが、￥12,360のうち、360円をまけてくれた。
その後、運転手が、無事帰れたのかは知らないが・・・（笑）
タクシーは何処へ行ったのだろう。
世界は何処へ行くのだろう？

あの後の運転手はどうだったんでしょうかね～
タクシーはガソリンじゃないからスタンドでは入れられないだろうし。
（個人タクシーならガソリンかな。。）
そのうち、バイクのタクシー出てきそう。
