仮面ライダーと少子化

真剣に、仮面ライダーになれると思っていた。
いや、自分が仮面ライダーだと思っていた。
誕生日だか、クリスマスだか忘れたが、「仮面ライダー／変身ベルト！！」を父親から買ってもらい、その時以来、私は夜寝ている間に手術され改造人間れ仮面ライダーになったのだ。
うれしくて、うれしくて、たまらなかったので、近所中のありとあらゆる人に「自分が仮面ライダーであること」を自慢して回った。
そして、いつショッカーがやってきても、変身できるように、寝る時も、公園で遊ぶ時も、両親に連れられてビフテキを食べに行く時も、カルピスを飲む時も、ひい婆ちゃんの葬式でさえ、常にこのベルトを着けて四方いったものだ。
そして、地球は私が守っているモノとすっかり思い込んでいた。
自分のお陰で世界が平和なのだ と 本気だった。
あまりにも平和でショッカーが襲って来ない替わりに隣町の悪ガキがやってきた。
決まって、鼻タレの悪ガキ数人とモメッゴトになり
「おのれショッカー しかたない、変身だ！！！！」
と、藤岡ひろしばりに眉をひそめ、お決まりのあの両手指先迄しっかり伸ばし、ゆっくり満月を描くようにポーズを決め
「へ〜〜〜〜ん し〜〜〜〜ん とおおおお！！！！！」
太い声でアクションしたものだ。
当然、変身等出来る訳も無く、単三電池で安っぽく回るベルトに子供のヒーロー願望は陳腐過ぎ、悪ガキどもとの喧嘩に何の意味もなさず、小平の藻くずと散った。
そして泣きべそをかきながらお袋のところに戻るのであった。
そんな私にとって日々の日課はパトロール！
このベルトを着けて地域を片側補助輪付きのチャリで見回るのであった。
裏路地の十字路の角地にある大家の家の塀の上に登り、仮面ライダーにはマントも無いのにシーツを首のところで結んで「ヒーロー」になりきり、腕組みをして仁王立ちをしたものだ。
「よっちゃん、そんなところ乗ってると危ないわよ」
近所のおせっかいなおばちゃんは常に注意をする。
「地球の平和は私が守っている。いいから安心しなさい」
そう言って、おばちゃんをおっぱらったもんだ。
そんな、哀愁の「ライダーベルト」が販売するとあっては、心も動く。
でも、三万かよ〜！！？？ 性能は良くなったと言っても当時の10倍！
高〜〜〜〜〜 ！！！！！
記事にもあったが、少子化対策として完成したのが「ライダーベルト」なんだとか、いまいちピンと来ないけど、ようするに「子供が駄目なら大人を狙へ」なわけ。
子供時代に大好きだったおもちゃが、数十年の時を経て性能が良くなり再販され、財を持った我々大人は幼少の「ヒーローに憧れ」子供から大人へ成長する過程の中で封印してきた、その思いを発散するかのように商品に群がる。
ヒーロー不在の昨今。時代は今ヒーローを求めている。
しかし、郷愁をそそる「ヒーローの蘇り」は「ヒーローに憧れる」大人未満を増長させる時代錯誤の商品なのかもしれない。
精神の低年齢化を煽り、いつまでも「ヒーローに憧れる駄目な大人」に
ならないように、注意する必要があるのかもしれない。
ヒーローは何処にいるのだろう？
大人は何処へ行けばいいのだろう？
そして僕は何処へ行けばいいのだろう？
