世界の壁と奥様との記録

凄い競技があるものだ。
「奥様運び世界選手権」
毎年７月にフィンランドーソンカヤルヴィで開催され、「世界中の奥様運び愛好家」が各国予選を勝ち抜いた選ばれし10カ国 40組のカップルが参加。全長253.5mの障害コースを男性が女性をかついでプールやハードル等の障害を越えてゴールまで女性を運び、そのスピードを競う競技だ。
私の大好きな、バカバカしい競技だ。
何とも素敵だ。しかも８年目を迎えている。
どうなっている？フィンランド。
男性が女性を担いで速さを競う以外、特にルールは無いらしいが、しいてあげるなら「奥さん」の体重が49kg以上。基本的にすべての参加者は「楽しむ」こと。この二つらしい。
49kg以上のかみさんを担いで走る旦那も大変だが、担がれる奥様は逆さなんだからもっと辛い。
写真のように、水の中に逆さになって突っ込まれるのだからたまったもんじゃない。
しかし各国予選を勝ち抜いての参加者が多いので、優勝を狙うのならばトレーニング必須。
旦那の帰宅後の飯前とか、毎週日曜日の休みの度に公園や庭で練習をするのであろう。
競技の認知度が少ない分、その光景は実に気味が悪いことであろう。
因に優勝者には「担いだ奥さん」と同じ重量だけのビールと携帯電話だとか．．．．．。
ビールと携帯欲しさに励む競技とは思えないが・・・
フィナーレの授与式にはデニスロッドマンも来たんだとか・・・・
なかなか頑張っている。
この大会は、妻を盗み出すのが一般的だったこの地域の伝説にちなみ、1992年からはじめられたとか・・
「人妻を盗み出すのが一般的だった」と言う、その地域も凄いが、そのネガティブな伝説をピックアップして開催しはじめ、８年も続けて、しかもロッドマン迄連れてくると事も凄いが、練習し参加し、敗戦で悔しくて涙を流す夫婦もいるところが凄い。
私の周りにも凄い夫婦は沢山いる。
喧嘩しながら「おめ〜とは一緒にいらんね〜んだよ！！」と絶叫しながら道路沿いに植えられたトウモロコシを「わ〜たしもなんだよ！！！」とふたりで抜き合う夫婦。
洞窟探検一家のように、毎晩深夜、自宅の庭でボサボサの頭にヘッドライトを着け「あ、ここにもいるわよあんた」と夜中の2時にアブラムシを撃退する老夫婦。
膨大な量のHなDVDを「これじゃ、わかんなくなるから」ってジャンル分けして、頻繁に観る物には専用ボックスを手作りしてくれる夫婦。
人生色々 夫婦も色々。
人、それぞれである。
こうした大会がもっと増えれば世界は平和になると思う。
しかし大会の商品は何で携帯なんであろうか？
そして僕なら何秒で走れるのであろうか？
そして僕は世界大会に出れるだろうか？
