Ashimoは凄い。二足歩行できるロボットが誕生した時には、本当に驚いた。まるで故・手塚治虫氏の世界。いつの日か、本当にロボットの時代は訪れるのだろうか？

《便利のこわさ》
そうなれば、本当に便利な世の中になる。しかし、私は便利さというものが嫌いだ。ある程度の便利さはいいとしても、不必要に便利な物が世の中多すぎる。
例えば、レストランなどのトイレで自動に便座が上がる機械や、自動で水を流す機械などもそう。あんなもの必要ないのではないか。必要どころか、人を堕落させていく結果につながる。なぜなら、これが当たり前になると、トイレをしたら自分の手で自分で流すという当たり前のモラルが欠落した世の中になってしまうからだ。
駅の構内放送だってそう。次はどこの駅だの、揺れるから気をつけろだの、必要ないでしょう。揺れるから気をつけるのは当たり前で、それがなくなると、人の危機管理能力はどんどん低下していく。次の駅がどこかだって、一昔前は、隣の人に聞いたもの。そこに人とのコミュニケーションが生まれ、人情が生まれていく。
便利化するという事は、人とのコミュニケーションを奪っていく行為につながるのだ。
コンビニなども良い例である。２４時間営業のコンビニは人を会話をする必要もなく要をたしてくれる。しかし、コンビニがなければどうなのか？
《昔・・・》
私が幼き頃、正月といえば、どの店も閉まっていた。正月というとおせちが主流だが、さすがに三日目ともなると、おせちに飽きてくる。そこで、母親が、今日はご飯を作ろうと言い出したもの。そこで、暮れからの忙しさで、醤油を切らしている事に気づく。「秀、醤油をお隣さんから借りてきて。」隣に醤油を借りにいく私。お隣さんに文句を言われつつも、そこには、コミュニケーションがあった。
不便なのは、嫌ですが、不便な事は、人とのつながりを生み、コミュニケーションを生む。そして、義理人情を生む結果へとつながる。しかし、現代では、全てが便利化され、人とコミュニケーションを取る機会がなくなっている。人は、まるで、一人っ子のごとく、わがままになり、利己主義になっていく・・・。恐ろしい事である。
《映画に見る未来の人の姿》
映画「続・猿の惑星」を見てほしい。劇中、未来人が登場する。その未来人は、言葉を語らず、テレパシーで交信をする。人は、人とコミュニケーションを取らなくなった代わりに、人間の別の能力である超能力、それもテレパシー能力が発達したという設定である。
しかし、コミュニケーションとは、人の声と表情、息づかい、全てが合わさって初めてコミュニケーションだと私は考えている。人類がそんな世界に突き進まないことを願うだけである。
