純正パトリオティズムの悲劇 第七回 パトリオティズムとは「故郷」

チェチェンのパルチザンと「ロシア兵士母委員会」の女性
■チェチェンを支えるもの
民族哲学ウェズデンゲルは、チェチェン人の精神的支柱である。これにパトリオティズムと部族主義が加わってチェチェン社会を支えてきた。
整理すると、チェチェン社会とチェチェン民族の土台となるものは、
１、パトリオティズム
２、ウェズデンゲル
３、部族主義・共同体主義（チェチェン社会は100以上の氏族から成り立っている）
４、イスラム神秘主義(スーフィズム)
この四つだろう。
核になるウェズデンゲルがパトリオティズムと連動し、対ロシア抵抗戦の礎にもなっているのだ。
■パトリオティズムとは故郷
パトリオティズムいうと、日本語では「愛国心」とか「祖国愛」とう言葉に翻訳されることが多い。しかし、どうもこの訳語では不十分であるし、チェチェンのパトリオティズムはもっと原始的だ。
パトリオティズムとは、郷土や所属する共同体、子供のころ遊んだ路地や歌の記憶、風景などに対する素朴な愛情ということだろう。
『故郷』（ふるさと）という歌が日本にはある。

私の言うパトリオティズムは、この歌詞とメロディーから感じとれるものを慈しむ感覚である。橋川文三『ナショナリズム』(紀伊国屋新書)を読んでも、語源である「パトリ」は、この感覚とそう離れてはいない。
なによりも、チェチェン人がコーカサスの大地を想う心にも通じる。
■自民党政府のエセ愛国主義
だから、パトリオティズムは地球上のすべての民族がもつものと言える。ナショナリズム(国家主義)のように、教育やマスコミ、国民文学、政府の力によって教えられたり作られるものではない。
にもかかわらず、権力に忠実な日本の国民に対し、国家に対する愛を強制しているのが、自民党政府である。「愛国心」だの「祖国愛」だのと言ってはいるが、“愛”を利用してナショナリズム、国家主義に国民を駆り立てているにすぎない。
特に自民党の２世、３世議員は歴史にも政治にも無知だし、哲学もない。『故郷ふるさと』でも大きな声でゆっくりと歌ってみて、パトリオティズムについて少しは考えてみたらどうだろうか。
一方、チェチェンは、近代国家、国民国家になる前にロシア帝国に併合されて今に至っている。そのためか、チェチェンの政治家、軍人、一般の人びとと接していてわかるのは、彼らには、いわゆるナショナリズムの感覚がほとんどないことだ。
これには、驚いた。 あるのはパトリオティズムのみ。（つづく）
