今村昌平監督、お疲れ様でした。

「にっぽん昆虫記」、「赤い殺意」、「復讐するは我にあり」、「楢山節考」など、個性的な名作をたくさん残した今村昌平監督が亡くなったとの知らせに、残念な思いを募らせた方々は多いのではないでしょうか。僕もその一人です。
テレビなんかのコメントでも、「もう二度と今村昌平監督のような監督は、現れないのではないか」と再三言われておりました。
その理由はいろいろ考えられるのですが、物語モノ映像コンテンツの主流であるテレビドラマが、今村映画のような作風を、必要としていないということが挙げられると思います。
テレビドラマにしろ映画にしろ、製作にはそれ相応のお金がかかるわけで、製作する以上は視聴率や興行収入は切っても切り離せないファクターであるのは当然です。
高視聴率・高興行収入のポイントとしては、例えば、男女が愛を確認し合うシーンにおいては、美しい夜景を背景に、髪の毛サラサラの男女が目をウルウルさせて見詰めあった後に、抱きしめ合ってチューするみたいな、とにかく綺麗に綺麗に描くというベクトルに向かっています（まあ最近はここまでベタなのも稀でしょうけど）。ところが今村映画では、全くもってその真逆を行っていて、男女が汗でベトベトになりながら息を荒げヨダレを垂らして性向を交わすというような、あたかも二人の体臭が画面から臭ってきそうなコッテリした描き方をしています。テレビドラマや映画が、ある意味スポンサーの広告塔的役割を担う形態にならざるを得ない昨今においては、スポンサーが今村監督のような企画に出資するのをためらうのは仕方ないことと思います。加えて、今村映画の台本に書かれたような演技を反町君や仲間由紀江さんにオファーしたところで、本人は出演を強く望んでも、事務所がＯＫを出すのを躊躇うでしょう。
ある意味、今の殺伐とした世の中を、今の映像コンテンツはダイレクトに反映していると思います、皮肉なことにそういう殺伐とした今だからこそ、今村作品のような映画が必要だと僕は思うのですが・・・。
そんなこんなで、今の日本の映像コンテンツ事情は、性表現に於いて、ただ単にエロに終始したＡＶ作品群と、生々しい性表現を微量たりとも取り入れない大衆作品群とに、二極化されることとなりました。もはや、「きちっと物語として成立しつつも人間の性を正面から捕らえた作品」は成立する余地が乏しくなった感があります。このような状況はもうしばらく続くと思います。
しかし、今の若い方々の中に、将来今村監督のような映画を撮りたいと思う方がいたら、是非諦めないで頑張ってほしいです。
今まで幾度となく、日本の映像コンテンツ事情（これまでは主に映画）において、ある表現がじわじわと閉塞に向かってついに限界に達し、その反動で一気に開放に向かう、という波が繰り返されてきましたが、近い将来、性表現においても、そのようなことが興ることと思いますので、その時は、今村作品のような表現を目指していた方々に、大いに腕をふるって頂きたいです。
