シーメンスCEO、2004年初頭から不正銀行口座を熟知 - ポルトガル

今回の不正疑惑が不祥事、あるいは不正に発展するかどうか不明だが、疑惑そのものが取りざたされること事態、企業にとってはマイナスだろう。
不祥事や不正は、企業や団体の信頼を失墜させるだけでなく、従業員、家族など影響の及ぶ範囲は非常に多い。そして、その対応は、すべての業務に優先して対処しなければならない重大な問題なはずだ。
しかし、残念なことに近年の対応を見ると、トップが問題の重要性を本当に把握して対処しているのか、疑問を感じることが多い。例えば、「いじめ」があったにもかかわらず、全く無かったと発言したり、決算上のミスを一社員の過失にしたりと、まるで他人事のような「言い訳」をする姿勢が目立つ。
特に、一社員が犯したミスだと発言した某証券会社経営層の対応には、残念というより、正直がっかりとさせられた。有価証券報告書という公式の書類が一社員のミスで100億単位の計算違いがあること自体、あり得ないだろう。仮にそうだとしても、それではあまりにも杜撰すぎるといえないか。
また経営層が、問題の原因を社員に「責任転嫁」するような発言も、幹部の態度としては失格ではないだろうか。
人事部員ならずとも、日々の業務遂行上、ミスの責任を他人に転嫁するすることはあってはならない行為であり、行動評価、考課上も見逃せない重大な問題だ。
経営層は会社のリーダーであり、人材育成という職責がある。
企業や団体のトップ・経営層には、一社員と比較にならないほどの責任があり、問題の一つひとつに、その責任と同等の姿勢が求められるものだ。
今回のシーメンスは今後どのように発展するか、しばらくは経営トップの姿勢、発言を見守ることにしよう。
