いつかは、日本にもやってくるのか

何でどうして、暑い夏にインフルエンザ！？
冬が明け、インフルエンザとは無縁な季節――と、思っていた初夏の沖縄で、今、インフルエンザが大流行をしているそうです。
沖縄での真夏のインフルエンザ流行は、今年で２年連続。
流行をしているインフルエンザは、Ｂ型のビクトリア株系統というウイルスで、冬には流行しなかった型なので、予防のワクチンも摂取しておらず、免役のない状態で感染、発病し、流行をしているそうです。
年齢的には“小・中学生の感染率が高い”ということなので、学校で、お友達から次々にウイルスをもらって発病、というパターンなのでしょう。
それにしても、なぜ、真夏に“インフルエンザ”が流行するのでしょう。

“鳥インフルエンザ”って、ご存じですか
「もちろん、知ってるわよ！」
……そうですよね。
でも、本当に正しい“鳥インフルエンザ”の知識、お持ちですか。
う～ん、そう言われると……。そうなんです。意外と、正しい知識というのは、あまりご存じないかもしれません。
一口で語ってしまえば、“鳥インフルエンザ”は、鳥類がＡ型のインフルエンザウイルスに罹ったときに起こる病気だそうなんです。よく、“Ｈ５Ｎ１ウイルス”という言葉を聞きますが、これも簡単にいえば、鳥インフルエンザの一種なんですね。
このＡ型ウイルスに感染して発病する鳥類は、鶏やアヒル、七面鳥などの家畜として飼われているものが多く、野鳥類は感染しても殆ど発病をしないんだそうです。
予防法、まずは外出後の“うがい”“手洗い”から
日常のインフルエンザの予防としては、外出後の“うがい”と“手洗い”。それでなくても、子どもの手は、何を触っているのか分からないので、しっかりと手洗いの習慣を付けたいものです。
他にも“人込みを避ける”や“マスクをする”などの手段もあるそうですが、１年３６５日行うのは現実的に無理ですよね。でも、身のまわりで流行を感じたら、実行すると、やないよりは予防効果があるそうです。
もし、鳥インフルエンザに罹ったら
まずは、なるべく早くお医者さんに行きましょう。初期だった場合、有効だと思われる治療法（抗インフルエンザ薬）があるそうです。
鳥インフルエンザなど新型インフルエンザの抗体を、私たちはもっていないので、当然、免役がありません。
本来なら予防のためにワクチンを摂取によって、免役をつけたいところですが、ワクチンはまだ研究の途中。 現在、各国で、ワクチンの実用に向けての研究が進められているとのことです。
早くできると、いいですね。
正しい情報を入手、それが大事
まずは、正しい鳥インフルエンザの情報を知識を身につけることが大切ですね。厚生労働省などの公的機関のホームページでも、鳥インフルエンザについて掲載がされています。
いろんなモノを貰って来るんですよね――学校から
インフルエンザだけなく、おたふく風邪やりんご病、夏のプールのシーズンは、水イボやら頭ジラミやら――いろいろなモノを子ども達は学校から貰って来ますよね。
我が家のそれぞれの両親は、まだまだ元気。それぞれの実家で２人で住んでいるんですが、風邪など滅多に引かないそうです。
冬場、しょっちゅう風邪をひいて、鼻水をたらしている息子達を見て、「あら～、ずいぶん体が弱いのねぇ……」なんて言われることも。いえ、全然、気にしてがいませんヨ。
薬用石けんのＣＭではないけれど、こども達は“何にでも触りたいお年ごろ”。集団生活の中でがんばっているんだから、何を貰ってきても仕方がないです……かネ。
