お金のために死ぬことが出来る人は、とても少ないでしょう。いくらお金があっても、死んでしまっては、元も子も無いというのが、ごくごく一般的な考えだと思います。
ところが信仰（宗教）のために命を投げ出す人々はたくさんいます。歴史上、天国に行くことを固く信じて、殉教した人々は、おびただしい数に上るでしょう。
つまり、資本主義(拝金主義）の世の中と言えども、人間は経済的な存在であるよりも、精神的存在であるというわけです。
先日、松下政経塾の第一期生で、経世史家の林英臣氏（http://www.orange.ne.jp/~amanari8/）
に、在りし日の松下幸之助氏のエピソードを色々お聞きしたのですが、その中のひとつに次のようなものがありました。
天理教の道場を訪れた幸之助氏は、そこにいる人々が、財産をすべて寄進し無一文になった上、一銭の給料ももらわずに働いていることを知ります。しかも、そこにいる人々すべてが輝くよう笑顔をしていることに感動します。
｢わが社の従業員は、充分な給与を支払っているはずなのに何故彼らのようにはつらつとしていないのか？｣
松下翁は、必死になって考え、数日後に大きな経営改革を断行します。経営の神様と呼ばれる幸之助氏の原点にはこのような体験があったわけです。
｢株式会社はだれのものか？｣という質問には、間違いなく｢株主の物｣という答えが返ってくるはずです。しかし、｢だれのためにあるのか？｣という質問に答えるのは簡単では無いでしょう。
米国のサウス・ウェスト航空は、｢従業員至上主義｣で、会社を大きく発展させました。従業員がハピーであることこそが、企業の成長につながるという考えです。
いまだに、驚異的な発展を遂げているリクルートは、在任当時｢江副教（えぞえきょう）｣と揶揄された、創業者江副氏が作り出した、独特の従業員教育・活性化システムによって成長してきました。
私が、この企業が本当にすごいと思うのは、数多くの中途退職者がいるにもかかわらず、彼らがリクルートを賛美することはあっても誹謗・中傷しないことです。他の会社ではちょっと考えられ無いことだと思います。
また、実際、多くのベンチャー企業が、創業者のカリスマ性によって支えられています。
要するに、従業員が給料以上の働きをしなければ、その会社は月並み以下の存在にしかなれないということです。そして、従業員が給料以上の働きをする会社とは、もちろん給料が高い会社ではありません。従業員に、それこそ｢殉教してもかまわない｣と思わせる｢何か｣を与えることが出来る会社なのです。
ちなみに、古代ローマ人は武力で他国を制圧し、巨大なローマ帝国を築きましたが、キリスト教に内部を侵食され、ついには政府高官までキリスト教に改宗してしまいます。しかし、そこでなんと｢キリスト教｣をローマの国教にするというウルトラＣによって危機を脱出。そして、手に入れたキリスト教という武器により世界を支配します。
キリストを処刑したの他ならるローマ人であると、聖書にまで明記してあるのに、ユダヤ人のユダのせいにして、バチカン(すなわち）を中心とした強固な支配体制を築いた、ローマ人(イタリア人）の政治手腕には脱帽します。
現在は、分派であるプロテスタントの国々が経済力を背景に力を持ってきていますが、カトリックに比べて、理性的・科学的すぎて狂信性に欠けます。地動説を数百年も否定し続ける勇気は、プロテスタントには無いと思います（カトリックが地動説を正式に認めたのは、２０世紀も終わりになってからです。）。
したがって、まだまだカトリック・パワーは強固でしょう！
