＜自転車レース ドイツ・ツアー＞バゼイエフ 第1ステージを制す - ドイツ
【ビーレフェルト/ドイツ 2日 AFP】自転車レース、ドイツ・ツアー（Deutschland Tour）・第1ステージ（デュッセルドルフからビーレフェルト、198キロメートル）。アスタナ・チーム（Astana team）のアッサン・バゼイエフ（Assan Bazayev）は、4時間43分06秒でステージ優勝を飾り、総合18位に浮上した。(c)AFP/DDP/PATRIK STOLLARZ
バザイエフはツアー・オブ・ジャパンで何度か来日している。一昨年はカペックのメンバーとして参加して、スプリントで上位に名を連ねた。今年プロ入りを果たした。
カザフスタンはヴィノクロフ、キビレフたちの世代が先人となってプロへの道を築いてきた。日本で活躍したカザフ人もたくさんいた。NIPPOにいたヤコブレフはいまヴィノクロフのチームメイトとして走っている。
バザイエフはその選手たちの背中を見てきた世代で、その後をしっかりついていき、プロとしてデビューした。カナダの世界選手権ではU23を走り前半大逃げを決めていた。
フミの話にもよく出てくるが、プロになる直前「日本人のプロ選手はあまり前例がないから、採用するのは難しい」と言われたことがあった。実力があっても、海のものとも、山のものともわからない国の選手はやりにくいということだ。
カザフスタンはそういう意味で、たくさんの結果を出してきた。それが多くの選手を生む原動力になっている。それだけに日本人選手も使える選手としてのイメージアップが大切だ。
今フミは日本を背負って走っている。それが今後の日本人選手輩出に大きく影響する。ただ、もう日本人に道は開き始めている。もう遠い世界ではない、若人よ、フミに続け！
※カザフスタンは旧ソ連の国。昔はソ連だったのでヨーロッパだったが、カザフスタンになってからはアジアに区分されている。今年12月カタールのドーハにて4年に一度のアジア大会が開催される。もちろんロードもあるが、カザフスタンがどんなメンバーを送り込むかによって戦況は変わってくる。フミの参加も予定されているアジアのチャンピオンをかけたこの大会の動向からも目が離せない。

カザフは良い選手が育ちますね。
サッカーの豪州よりも強敵です。
でも今年はフミ君以外にも海外でJAPANが活躍をしてますよね。
シッカリ戦えば勝機は有ると思います。
ただし他のASIAN諸国にも強敵となりうる選手は少なくない。
JAPANがどんなメンバーで戦うのか楽しみです。
ところで、豪州の自転車界は？
ASIANへの加入って話は？
