■買い手より売り手の方がエライなんてヘン！
またしてもアメリカのゴリ押しに負けて牛肉の輸入再開が
決まってしまいましたね。いったいアメリカという国は
どこまで強気な国なんでしょう。食の安全性に対する意識は
国によってさまざまでしょうが、ものを売ろうとする側が買う側の
基準に合わせるのは当然のこと。消費者から危険部位の絶対排除を
求められれば、それを売ってお金を得ようとする売り手は
応じなければならないのが、ビジネスの基本じゃないでしょうか。
経済制裁をちらつかせながら脅かせば、弱腰の日本はなんでも
言うことを聞くと思われたのでは、とても対等なパートナーシップ
で結ばれた国同士とはいえません（本来対等ではありませんが…）。
■ある意味、これは天罰？
↓
そんな中、アメリカでは地球温暖化の影響からか、連日の猛暑。
ニューヨークでも観測史上初の44度を記録したそうです。
この猛暑によってアメリカの畜産農家は大打撃を受け、
数多くの畜牛が死亡。輸入再開のタイミングとしては最悪な状態
になってしまいました（ほんとに日本なんかに、いい肉が
入ってくるなんてありえないんじゃない？）。
アメリカはこれまで温暖化を防止するためのＣＯ2の排出規制に
まったくと言っていいほど取り組んでこず、結果的にこうした
猛暑や超大型のハリケーンの発生を招いたわけですから
ある意味、これは天罰といえるかもしれません。
それにしても自国内の問題だけならともかく、地球レベルの異変
だとすると、おおいに迷惑な話ですよねー。
■お国柄から推察されるペットフードの善し悪し
ところでこういうお国柄なのですから、アメリカのペットフードが
いかに優良であると言われても、私にはピンときません。
人間の食べ物ですらきちんとできない国が、どうして犬猫の食べ物に
関してはしっかりした検査体制を敷いているといえるのか…。
もともと捨て場所に窮した野生動物の屍肉や、経済動物の廃棄肉を
ごた混ぜにしてつくった肉骨粉をベースとして生まれたのが
ペットフードですから、そこには当然、牛も含まれているし
（牛だけ選別するなんて考えられない）、危険部位の除去に
ついても甚だ疑わしいと言わざるを得ません。
■お金を食べ物に使うか動物病院への支払いに使うか
そんなものを常時食べさせていて、ペットたちが健康であり
続けられようはずもなく、犬も猫も自然界ではありえないような
生活習慣病に苦しみながら死んでいきます。本当に心から
自分のペットを愛する気持ちがあるなら、手作り食に切り換えるか
国産の心あるメーカーがつくった信頼できる内容（原材料100％開示
のもの）にするか、考え直した方がよいように思います。
本当に人間と同等レベルの食材を使ってつくられたフードは
価格も人間の食品並みですが、ようはお金を食べ物に使うか
動物病院への支払いに使うかということ。どちらが正しい使い道かは
…言わずもがなですよね。
ところで、みなさんはアメリカ産牛肉が売り出されたら
ほんとに買われますか？ 私はちょっと遠慮しておきます。
かの国の為政者に、ゴリ押しは消費者に嫌われるということを
学習していただくためにも、ね。
