捨て猫の増加を恐れる保護施設 鳥インフルエンザ - フランス
【リヨン/フランス 10日 AFP】動物保護施設SPAは、高病原性鳥インフルエンザA（H5N1）感染への恐れから捨て猫が増加することを危惧している。このウイルスのため、アジアやトルコで100人近くが死亡し、ドイツやオーストリアでは感染した猫数匹が死んでいる。写真はSPAの檻から外を眺める猫。(c)AFP/JEAN-PHILIPPE KSIAZEK
〈前回までのあらすじ〉
純白で優美なしろちゃん。
野良猫の親から生まれてきたのか、捨てられたのか、
迷ってきたのか
定かではありませんが、獣医の所見では１歳のオスでした。
転居するまで放し飼いで飼いました。
喧嘩好きの割には喧嘩の弱いしろちゃんは、血みどろになって
帰ってくることも多々ありました。
現在のマンションは猫を外に出すのを禁じていたので、
しろちゃんはストレスが溜まり、主人に外出させるように
強く迫りました。
仕方がないので、取り敢えずリードを付け構内外を散歩させる
ことにしました。
出会う人は「可愛い猫ちゃんね。」と声をかけるのが
多数派ですが、中にはしろちゃんが大型なので、犬にしては
猫みたいだと首をひねり、しろちゃんを凝視する極少数派も
いました。猫は束縛を嫌う動物なので、散歩中、２回ほど
リードから抜けて逃亡しました。
そして、あの晩、玄関のドアを開けた隙にサッと戸外へ
飛び出して行ったのです。
主人は駐車場でしろちゃんの名を連呼しました。
私は友達に「しろちゃんがいなくなった」見掛けたら
連絡してくれと頼みました。
３日ほど経ったでしょうか
１階の部屋に住む方から「しろい猫を預かっている」と連絡があり
無事、しろちゃんは主人の元に帰ることができました。
しろちゃんは、その１階に住むメス猫に会いに行っていたのです。
なんだぁ、しろちゃんは恋の逃避行をしていたのか。。（ホッ）
言ってくれればいいのに。
「ぼく、好きな猫ちゃんがいるから、ちょっと会いに行ってくるよ
すぐに戻るからね。。」
そうしたら主人もその家族もこんなに慌てなくても良かったのに。
でも戻ってきてくれて本当に良かった。良かった。
しろちゃんは外でメス猫に会っておしゃべりをしたり
他の野良猫と遊びたかったのかなぁと主人は思いました。
そして元は野良猫のしろちゃん、４年の短い生涯の扉を閉じ
永眠の旅にでました。
主人はもう、猫は飼わないと言いながらも
近隣の野良猫達に餌を運んでいました。
マンションの隣りの工場で生まれた３兄弟の１頭、
母親は藪に住んでいる猫（名は雅子）です。
藪に移ってきたところ猫カゼで死線をさ迷っていたので
病院で抗生物質を打ち、自宅につれてきて
抗生物質の錠剤を１０日間、服用させ、栄養価の高い餌を
与えたところ、半月で治癒しました。
治ったら藪に返す予定でしたが、情が移り主人はまたもや
猫を飼い始めました。
名前はミー。
瀕死の状態で家に初めて連れてきたとき「ミー、ミー。」と
泣いていたのが、とても印象的でした。
主人と孫と私で名づけました。
そのミーも動物特有に病気にかかり、２年ほど前に天国へ
旅たちました。
主人は今、三途の川に向かって歩いています。
もう、真中あたりまで歩いてきたかな
天国に行ったら、しろちゃんや、ミーちゃんに会えるね
そこには病気もなく 裏切られることもなく
頑張らなくてもいい 生活が待っていることでしょう
あと、もう少し。
こちらの世界で出会った縁のある人達。
もう、すでにそちらの世界に行ってしまった人達。
ずっと続くんだね。
