■ワインの香り
【リスボン/スペイン 22日 AFP】21日、リスボンのアトランティック・パビリオン（Atlantic Pavillion）で、第13回ワールドワインコンテスト（World Wine Contest）初日が行われた。世界中から集められた数千本のワインが、世界各国の審査員によって3日間の審査を受ける。優勝者には金メダル、準優勝には銀メダル、第3位には銅メダルが贈られる。コンテスト開始以来、ブリュッセル（Bruxelles）以外でコンテストが開催されるのは初めて。写真はワインの香りを調べ、審査をする審査員。(c)AFP/NICOLAS ASFOURI
美代子がはじめて口にしたワインは白のワインだった
それまでカクテル派だった彼女は恋人に勧められ
バースデーのお祝いに連れていってもらった海外旅行で
ワインをはじめて口にしたのだ
特別ワインがきらいだったワケじゃないけど
大人の香りがするワインに少し抵抗感があったのは 事実
バースデーのお祝いに海外旅行なんて
洒落た恋人の演出に美代子はすでに 酔っていた
ホテルに到着するなり ガムランの音で迎えてくれた人たちに
「ありがとう」と答えた
南国の香り 何の香り？
甘いような すっぱいような
目の前にたくさんのフルーツがあるような
そんな香りに包まれた
ウエルカムドリンクはオレンジの味
だけど 日本とはちがう味
オレンジのほかになにか ちがう南国のフルーツが入っているよう
グラスに赤いストロー オレンジの色
パインがグラスについてて いっそう 南国の香りが漂ってきた
美代子はカクテル派だったのではじめて飲む南国の味に
嬉しさがこみ上げてきた
天井を見上げると 何台もプロペラがついた扇風機
本当に海外に来てしまった
親には友達と国内旅行に行くって内緒にしてたけど
このまま この南国で恋人とずっと過ごしたい と 思った
夕日が沈むころ 暑かった空気から
少しづつ 暗闇と そして 虫の声がきこえてきた
バカンスの用にと用意していたサンドレスを着て
南国気分を味わった
涼しい風が通りすぎる
外国の夜は いつもの夜とちがう
ワクワクしてきたのが 自分でもわかった
「ここは海が近いから魚介類が美味しいんだ」
恋人に連れていってもらった場所はシーフードレストラン
「飲み物は？」
ウェイターが尋ねる
「美代子、ワインでいい？」
「う、うん。。。」
「白ワインで。」
ウェイターが持ってきてくれたのは 『char donnay』
「わたし、ワイン飲むのはじめてなんだけど 大丈夫かしら？」
恋人が一口飲んでから 美代子が口にした
少し のどが熱くなったけど 大丈夫そう
目の前にはたくさんのシーフード料理
見たことないような大きなロブスター
一皿にこぼれんばかりの野菜たち
レモンをひと絞りすると 更に 味がかわった
南国の香りから 涼しい風が頬をくすぐる
白ワインを飲み干しながら
美代子は嬉しさとワインの美味しさと 恋人の気持ちに
感謝した
「明日 晴れたら ボートに乗ってあの島に行こう」
恋人が指差す方向を見ると 灯台の細い光りがこちらまで
届きそうだった
今日はいい夢が見られそう
ワインの香りと 南国のあたたかい風 虫たちの声
恋人にもらった白いサンダルを履いて 手をつないで
砂浜を 歩きたい
海の中の色鮮やかな魚達と おしゃべりしたいなァ
明日 晴れるかなァ
晴れるといいなァ
