■家族の香り

お店のドアが開き、いつものアオザイを着た女性が出迎えてくれた
いつもお店に入る瞬間、香りがするのは
なぜだろうか
香水？ それともタバコ？
店内を見まわしてもタバコを吸っているお客はいない
アオザイを着たベトナム人女性からの香りか
それとも そう思っている 自分だけにしか
感じない香りなのか
妊娠している私は、アオザイを着ている女性に目を向けた
何ヶ月か前の私も あの女性のように スラッとしていたのに
目立ち始めた自分のお腹を見て もうあの頃に
戻れないないんじゃないか
と思った
だけどお腹の中で愛くるしく動く赤ちゃんに幸せを感じた
いつも座る奥の席へ
最初の一皿は 「生春巻」
スィートチリソースをつけていただく
２人でいつも思うこと
「ここのお箸ってステキだよね」
青くて長くてちょうどいい 重さ
お店で流れている曲に耳を傾けた
ニ胡の調べ....
ベトナム料理と アオザイの女性 ニ胡の音
ほんわかした気持ちになってしまう
お腹に子供を宿してからというもの
私はなにか 感じるものが少し違ってきた
初めて社会に出たときも 感じることが重すぎて
周りの変化に おいていかれそうになったが
今 妊娠している自分も あの時と少し違うけど
感じるものが違ってきたなぁと
思い始めていた
子供が生まれ 子育てをしながら ひとつの部屋で
過ごす それは社会との接点がなくなるような
気がしてならなかった
そんなことを思いながら 自分が自分でなくなるような
気がして 「子供を育てる」ということに少し不安だった
彼は仕事仲間と行く ひとりごはん屋さんと雰囲気が違うと
緊張するらしいが
ちょっとこわばってた彼の顔が落ち着きを取り戻してきた
彼は彼で「家族がひとり増える」ということに
頑張らねば と 一緒に育児書を見たり これからの自分の
仕事について よく考えるようになったと漏らしていた
妻や子供を養っていくという使命感がある限り
彼も多少不安があるようだ
テーブルの上にはアルコールランプ
黄の色がついているオイル
ほんのり暖かい炎が 気持ちまでも 黄色にしてくれる
不安だった気持ちをかき消すかのように
ランプの色を見つめ お互い言葉にしないけれど
これからの行く末を 想っているのだろうと
私は彼の顔をみた
お店の雰囲気も ランプも そして音楽も
居心地がいい
音楽が好きな私はゆったりと流れる二胡の調べを
聴きながらお腹の赤ちゃん、聴いてくれているかな と
ふと 思った
お腹に手をあてると 動いているのがわかる
「今度来るときは もうひとりいるかもね！」
「えっ？」
お腹を指さし 彼はやっとわかったようだ
ひとり ふたりと家族が増え
賑やかな食事
最後に出されたスィーツを頂きながら
そんなことを想った
