公演も終了し、しばし休息のときなのである。去年の秋あたりから働き続けたこの半年間。少しくらい何もしなくったって死んだ両親も怒るまい。ま、働いたわりには銭にはなっていないので、大手をふって「やすむ」という気にはなれないのだけれども。大きく手をふるより、手のひらを「じっ」と見ることのほうが多いのだけれども。ま、それはそれ、これはこれなのである。

さて。知らなければそんな目にあわなかったのにという事がよくある。なまじ齧ってしまったばっかりに、過信し痛い目にあうのである。なまじ教えられたばっかりに、引くに引けずかなしい目にあうのである。
昔、空手をやっていたころ、そういう輩は山ほどいた。
ルールの中で殴り合う競技と、街中での格闘はそもそも同じようでいてまったく違う種類の活動である。にもかかわらず、習いたての黒帯寸前あたりというのは、そこを間違える。街中で何か揉め事らしきものに遭遇すると、買わなくていいのに「腕」を過信して嬉々として買い、痛い目にあう。初心者はおだてて教えるのが近道だと、稽古場で散々おだてられているからなおさらである。稽古場でいくらおだてられてても、そんなものは１歩外へ出ればクソの役にも立たないのである。
写真を見ると、小さな女の子が大きな男に蹴りをくらわせている。おそらくこの直後、蹴られているこの大きな男性は「おお。いてて」とか言いながら効いたふりをしているのだろう。隣の女性は「すごーい」とか言いながら拍手したりするのだろう。まわりの子達も「ミヤちゃんすごーい」とか言いながら盛り上がるのだろう。ま、その場にいたわけではないので、詳しくはどうかはわからないけれども。ましてやこの子の名前がミヤちゃんかどうかもよく知らないけれども。とにかく、そうして楽しい数時間の間に、大変危険な錯覚を彼女にうえつけてしまうのである。
「護身術」と称して子供に蹴り方を教える暇があるのなら、いかに素早く逃げるかを教えるべきである。そして「お前がいくら死にものぐるいでつかみかかったところで、いくら力まかせに金玉を蹴り上げたところで、大人は痛くも痒くもないのだよ」とコンコンと教えるべきであって、痛がったりおだてたりするべきではない。何と言われようと絶対にそうである。こんなチビが何をしたところで火に油をそそくだけである。
それでも、どうしても相手にダメージを与えなければ気がすまないのならば、「カッターで目を突き刺せ」くらいの事を教えればいい。ちなみに、今は亡き僕の父は幼い僕によく「変態におそわれたらどこでもええから肉を噛みちぎって逃げろ」と教えていたものである。簡潔にして具体的な教えだと今でもよく思い出す。
知らないより知っていた方がいいという考え方もあるけれど、知っていたがためにあえて挑んで玉砕するより、うさぎのように逃げる方が僕はいいと思う。

同じ写真で「男の子に守らせろ」みたいな事を書いてる人がいたけど、こっちの方がよっぽど具体的かつ現実的ですね。僕も娘が出来たら「カッターで目をつきさせ」もしくは「肉を噛みちぎれ」と教えます。

そうですね～。
習っているなら、いつか実践してみたくなるもの。
『怖いもの知らず』…ほど、危ういものは無い。
己の未熟さ、弱さを知ることは大事。
何が起こるかわからない物騒な最近…
先日文房具屋で、新学期グッズの並びに
かわいいキャラクターの防犯ベルが陳列されていてビックリ！
当然のように並ぶその様子に、ちょっとビビリました(^_^;)
